What I Have Learned Watching President Elect Donald J. Trump.
I must say I was not as shocked as most of the world that Donald J. Trump won the election. I have watched Mr. Trump execute his winning strategies throughout this entire process, he leveraged his Unique Advantage and he is now the President Elect. Here’s what I learned…
Personally~ Mr. Trump is a great example of a person who does not have his personal life “all together” but still pursued his dreams and his passion and he won. So often, we hold ourselves back from what we want the most, while we “get our life together.” In the meantime our window of opportunity closes. Don’t allow failed relationships, financial turmoil, or past bad decisions to stop you from pursuing the promise in your life. Additionally, don’t sleep, as you walk in your promise adversity will still arise and come against you but keep your eye on your promise and keep marching into your destiny. Your Someday is Today!
Spiritually~ Matthew 5:45 comes to mind, where we are reminded that God allows the sun to shine on the good and evil, and he also sends his rain on the just and the unjust. By no means am I putting Mr. Trump into either category of good or evil, however as I watch Trump-a-Vision, it does appear half of our country views him as good and the other half views him as evil. God allows his blessings to flow on both, we do not get to dictate where His blessings flow. That is a good reminder that no man can determine your blessings either, God’s blessings will flow into your life regardless of what those who love or hate you say or think. Don’t allow yourself to be moved by your haters, keep walking with your head held high right into your blessings. There’s blessings out there with your name written on them, go get them!
Professionally~ Now in this area, I could write an entire book!
- Whether you like or dislike Mr. Trump, we must all agree that he is authentically and unapologetically Trump! He is who he is and boldly walks in his identity. Don’t apologize for who you are, just do you!
- Trump has created an amazing brand and again, he stayed true to his brand and protected his brand at all cost. Trump did not need surrogates, he didn’t need the celebrity factor, all he had to do was show up Trump. Absolutely no one could or can represent Trump better than he could. People would try to clarify various controversial statements that he made and he would come back and say, “no I meant exactly what I said…” and his base would go bananas.
- His Vibe attracted his Tribe. We recite this cute mantra but during this election we clearly saw a powerful example of it in its greatest grandeur. Mr. Trump identified his core audience to a ‘T’ and he spoke their language 100%. Every word he spoke, every hat, every gesture, everything he did was crafted to appeal to his core base and they supported him strong. He gave his core a voice, what they were thinking and feeling, Trump said it and did it. He breathed life into his core and they followed up with action. How do you appeal to your core, have you been able to succinctly identify your core audience? Have you crafted a message that is so poignant that it evokes enormous emotion and reaction from your core base?
The one thing I know for sure is that Mr. Donald J. Trump is a master strategist and he promoted and marketed the genius of his brand and he won! One thing that I have learned over the years is anytime you see someone WIN and WIN when all odds are against them, I go into student mode and I start studying how they won. I look for lessons that may apply to me and my journey and then determine how to up my own game. I recommend that you set aside the emotion of this sordid election and dig in to get the lessons that are before us and use those to help you take you and your dreams to the next level. I leave you with Phillippians 4:8 “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable–if anything is excellent or praiseworthy–think about such things.”
